Must-Haves:

• 3+ Years of professional experience as a technical writer
• Operations background
• Knowing processes, workflows, and resources of a business
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Used to document and create content

Pluses:

• Knowledge or experience with locomotive manufacturing
• Specifically wayside equipment

Day to Day:

We are looking for a Technical Writer to support one of our Manufacturing clients. This Individual will be working alongside production workers, associates, and engineers. The content (expected output) will be documentation that articulates how products are assembled, tested, and will include trouble-shooting guides. The expectation to work onsite at one of their manufacturing facilities near Atlanta to observe the assembly, test, and troubleshooting work being performed. Then, take this information and document it to create work instructions that will be used to help with training new hires. The products being manufactured onsite are wayside equipment, this is equipment that sits on the side of railway tracks and uses laser systems/cameras to sense the trains and capture certain information. Day to day responsibilities include the following:

• creating detailed process documents that clearly outline each step of the process.
• Developing technical instructions that are easy to understand and follow.
• Writing test instructions that ensure all tests are conducted accurately and consistently.
• Preparing assembly instructions that provide clear guidance on assembling components.
• Drafting job scope instructions that define the responsibilities and tasks for specific roles.
• Compiling problem-solving checklists that help identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Compensation:

$35/hr to $40/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
