Cake Decorator Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a bakery or commercial kitchen
• Advanced experience in cake and cookie design and decorating
• Knowledge of various decorating techniques
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Attention to detail 

Cake Decorator Duties

• Design and create custom cakes for various occasions such as weddings, birthdays, and other special events
• Consult with clients to determine their desired design and theme and provide sketches, if requested
• Prepare frostings, icings and fillings
• Prepare and bake cakes according to specific recipes and dietary restriction
• Decorate cakes with frosting, fondant, and other edible decorations
• Use various tools and techniques to create intricate designs and details
• Perform retail and cafe customer service duties as needed
• Ensure high standards of presentation and cleanliness
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment, adhering to food safety guidelines
• Manage supplies and inventory
