Contract Accounting Assistant (2–3 Month Assignment)

Location: Pewaukee, WI

Duration: 2–3 Months

Schedule: Full-time, On-site Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant for a short-term contract role to support core financial operations during a busy period. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting accumen, particularly in manufacturing environments, who are comfortable working with Epicor or similar ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update financial records including journals, ledgers, and transaction logs using accounting software (e.g., Epicor).
• Process accounts payable: invoice entry, general ledger coding, and PO matching.
• Manage accounts receivable: billing, tracking balances, and collections follow-up.
• Perform account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and prepare journal entries.
• Assist with bank statement reconciliation and basic payroll data entry.
• Review and process employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Compile financial data for internal reporting and summaries.
• Support annual audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Maintain organized financial records through data entry and document management.
• Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform general administrative tasks including phones, mail handling, and visitor support.
• Ensure confidentiality of financial and organizational data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and ad hoc assignments.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Epicor or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong skills in bookkeeping, reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Contract Details:

• Start Date: Immediate
• End Date: Approximately 2–3 months from start
• Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.42 - $28.63/hr.
